This book tells of a young girl who at age 12 was intrigued with the idea of wanting to do “big things” in life. This was a defining period in her life. She chose to challenge herself, rather than the situation she was placed in, in order to rise above to achieve her dream. She wanted to be a “mover and a shaker”; a term she heard and liked. A business term that during the era she was evolving, very few women were referred; and rarely unthought of for a black woman. She held on to her dream as a youth. Keeping that in mind, she never gave credence to the word “can’t” and would not allow color to define her. She believed the heart has no color; and later in life realized that the only true and respectable color in the business world was — Green.

This is a book of poetry written in narrative based on true stories. It depicts the reality, humor and amusement of senior living, among seniors who live in senior housing, where the quality of life continues and age is not a factor for the “Young at Heart”.
